"Adopted by the Alpha of a werewolf pack after a rogue wolf brutally killed her parents right before her eyes, fifteen-year-old Bryn knows only pack life, and the rigid social hierarchy that controls it. That doesn't mean that she's averse to breaking a rule or two.Raised By Wolves was a great book about werewolves that I found very enjoyable. I've got to admit, I'm liking werewolves more and more. Like any paranormal novel, the author takes a paranormal element and makes it their own. In Barnes' case, I really liked the way she made her element work. There was just something more awesome about it to say the least.
But when her curiosity gets the better of her and she discovers Chase, a new teen locked in a cage in her guardian's basement, and witnesses him turn into a wolf before her eyes, the horrific memories of her parents' murders return. Bryn becomes obsessed with getting her questions answered, and Chase is the only one who can provide the information she needs.
But in her drive to find the truth, will Bryn push too far beyond the constraints of the pack, forcing her to leave behind her friends, her family, and the identity that she's shaped?"
The characters were great. Devon was my favorite; he often busted out with different accents and was always there for Bryn no matter what. Ali was another favorite. She was the mother-figure for Bryn and a good one at that. I often found myself thinking they were almost best friends. Best of both worlds, you know? But almost every character took my liking because they're well created.
Although I got a little confused towards the middle of the book, this book has it's hooks in mine and I can't wait to read the next installment because I know it's going to be just as awesome as the first. Well, possibly. But I know it :)
Cover love: I love this cover. And the background. It's just so pretty! :)
I still have to read this one, but I'm a huge Jennifer Lynn Barnes fan. It sounds so awesome. I adore the cover.
ReplyDeleteI really want to read this, great review :)
ReplyDeleteI just read the comment you left on my blog and the reason you aren't getting my updates might be because I changed my URL and that sort of messed everything up. You can stop following and follow me again to start getting my updates again. It's sort of confusing, I know, but it was the only way I knew to make it work :)
