My thoughts:

Fat Cat was a funny, interesting, and kind of heart wrenching. I’ll give those details in a second.

Catherine, or Cat, was your average teenage girl who was a little over weight. Yes, she was overweight, but that didn’t stop her from being her. She has her flaws, and she tries desperately to fix them. We all have flaws and want to try and fix them, aren’t I right? This leads me to her being relatable. As well as that, she was also funny and strong willed. (Seriously strong willed. Living without technology and such, sheesh!) Amanda is her best friend. She witty, poetic, humorous, and the best friend any girl can ask for. I liked her character. She didn’t care what everyone thought of Cat. She was just her best friend and that’s it. Everyone should have a friend like that. Matt was loveable, stubborn, and at times, secretly in love and always hides it. There was a love hate relationship right there. And that is the heart wrenching part of this novel.

The writing was fast paced and moved along quickly. I mean the chapters at some points are only a page and a half. That probably has nothing to do with the book, it’s just my writing – let’s say thoughts – were on edge about it. The plot was there and lead up to each other smoothly. The theme of the book isn’t something I would normally read though. About science, eating healthy, etc. But it was more than that, and I saw it. It’s about not changing for someone, but changing for yourself. The was the deeper message, other than the sciencey type things I mentioned above.

Overall this was a book that’ll have you laughing and thinking seriously about what you put in your mouth, and don’t forget first loves (:

My thoughts:

Blue Plate Special is a inspiring book and three teenage girls told in different decades of time. Put together beautiful, this book will have you flipping the pages to see what happens with each girl as it slowly forms into a heartfelt novel.

There are three main characters in this book. Madeline is overweight and has been teased by it since she was a kid. She struggles to care for her mother who always drinks. She was my favorite character throughout the whole story. My other favorite comes with the next mentionable. Desiree story is told through prose. Which I find perfect for her cause. Desiree has to live with her mother who couldn’t care less about her daughter, always giving remarks about what’s she wearing and that’s all. Yet, something happens and she’s never the same. Lastly, there’s Ariel. Ariel’s taking AP classes and takes everything almost seriously. That is until she meets Shane. The boy that is showing her a different side. Completely different, yet the same with their flaws, all of these characters have some meaning in each of the stories. And I loved that fact.

The writing is hands down the best out there. There is just the right amount of description, and you can see the characters through their ups and downs. She gave her character’s such life, I believed they were actually telling you something. The plot went down smoothly, and from the amount of concentration it would have taken to write different views and keep up with the novel all together is really telling you something. Besides being confused in the beginning, it quickly subsided as I started to figure out how they all fit together. Keep in there, and it’ll be an amazing book!

Overall, I found this book seriously inspring story about mother and daughters and the reasons behind how someone acts and why. The author clearly created an amazing novel. I'm glad I read it.

Calling on Twilight Saga Lovers....

Interested in watching a really sad New Moon fan-made entry for most emotional Twilight video or something like that. It's the winner, and I think you should watch it! It gave me shivers all the way through it and I think you'll like it! I watch it like three days everyday, xD.

Okay, technically it was a gift - that's what the letter said - from Penguin Group, but still. Can you believe I found all those new releases at the library? Yeah, tell me about it! I'm loving my libraries more and more every visit. I got three books for review, as you read above, those are nifty. So what did you get this week?

Review: Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

My thoughts:

Shiver is heart-achingly beautiful. It will have you flipping the pages in a constant midst of trying to grab for more of Sam and Grace. It will have you wanting more.

Grace, the main character, was mature and independent girl who was attacked by wolves. Only she remembers the wolf that saved her. The wolf’s golden eyes. Ever since then, she’s been sort of obsessed. She has watched her woods during the winter just watching. Watching the golden eyes that seemed so comforting, so safe. Her parents, unlike herself, I thought of were to be interested in their own lives rather than their daughter’s. That’s what irked me the most, but in comparison to the whole book…. It’s defiantly minor.

Sam is flawed and broken in ways that are made to fit perfectly. He too has been watching Grace. Making sure that she was okay. Inside he urged to actually meet her. And one day he does, and they automatically fall for each other. The relationship they had was chaste, which was used quiet a lot throughout the book, but sensual in ways Young Adult book’s can do. But it wasn't as, well, slutty. A perfect romance I’ve ever read.

Steifvater worded her novel in a way that makes you feel you’re in Grace’s and Sam’s world. What they’re feeling, what they’re thinking. All of it. It’s told in alternating point of views, from Grace’s to Sam’s. And from that you learned what it was like to be inside both of their minds. The plot flowed quickly, but fell together smoothly.

Overall this is a sweet, exciting, loveable, and amazing book that will leave you breathless. (Spoiler!)The ending was perfect because they found a cure, and Sam was human. A perfect ending that had tears in my eyes. (Spoiler over.) I can’t wait for the sequel, Linger, coming out next year.

Nighttime's Darling Songs! (Afternoon)

I had to. Don't kill me. I'm a music fanatic. It's really weird this time around, but I'm hyper....again. So they're songs that will make you wanna dance! Depends on who's listening, but fudge, who cares! (: Yeah, yeah. Too many of these and not enough books. But trust me. I have about 20 or more books to read? Yeah, look out for all that jazz tomorrow.


I was just dancing to this, it's very dance worthy. You'll find me listening to this type of music more than often. Okay, not that often, but still :D

My thoughts:
How To Say Goodbye In Robot is a heartbreaking, cute, honest, and quirky all rolled into one. It very well may be my favorite book.

We're met with Bea. The girl who's family moves constantly, never settling somewhere. The girl who has parent issues. The girl who thinks herself as a robot, unable to feel any emotion. She often dreams of death, the way it'll feel being separated from the rest of the world. The calm of it all. That is until she meets Jonah. Jonah is the loner throughout the book. He hates communicating with other kids at his school, and lingers like, well, a ghost. But there's a reason behind all of it. Then they meet and the world stops as if it's only them and slowly, they start a friendship that will leave us all breathless.

Basically, this book is about real friendship and the love that can accompany it. No matter how bad you try to deny it. But it isn't a love story, but I often found myself urging that they did get together. Throughout the middle of the book, my eyes started to basically want to cry. Overall, this is seriously heart breaking and a great read. You'll have to read it to find out for yourself.

I'm not going to compare this to Twilight, at all. So you're getting a full review, NOT based on another book. Those are annoying, aren't I right?

The Vampire Diaries: The Awakening is a book filled with suspense and great characters. It'll have you sitting at the edge of your seat just wanting more.

Elena is the girl who can get any guy that she wants and the queen of the highschool, but deep down she is vulnerable and confused. Stefan is your brooding, dark, and mysterious guy that comes out of nowhere, and Elena wants him more than any other guy. Let's not forget Damon. He's the dark, evil, twice as mysterious older brother. He's not shown much in this book, but I know he's going to bring more into the book. I found all the characters normal, in a book sense. The writing is fantastic, it gives you descriptions that are perfect but not over bearing. Overall, I loved this book and I can't wait to read the other books to come in the series.

Friday Night Book Wars.

It's been a while since I posted another war, so this week we are going to see who wins when it comes to Cirque Du Freak Book 1! Yes, just in time for the movie which comes out next week, actually. Which I want to see badly, but we're focusing on the books here.

The UK:
My thoughts: Creepy enough that's for sure, but a tad too cartoony for me. Did I mention I distaste cartoon covers? I prefer objects and people opposed to drawings. But I do love the encryption of gold around the cover? Yeah, it's pretty. But I'm not liking this one.

The USA:
My thoughts: Definitely shows the them throughout the book. We got some black with what looks like stars? It's also kind of old fashioned. I'm loving the lights in the title too. This is our winner book lovers! (:

Teaser Tuesday! [o9]

Hey, guys. Sorry I didn't post last weeks Teaser Tuesday, I was kind of busy. I noticed I got two more followers overnight, or day, whatever your time is. Thanks so much! To all of you. I'd thought I'd never get to ten much less thirty followers. I know it's not one hundred or whatever, but seriously it's a nice stepping stone (: Anyways... on to the teaser.

Just read something over at Garden of Books (For Teens) and found something that's confused me even more about review blogging. Although I've only received seven or less arcs, this is still upsetting. Could anyone tell me about what's going on? I've been completely oblivious until now.

It's about charging on every arc you receive. Sending it back after reviewing? Showing proof that you reviewed it? What in the world, I can't understand it at all! I'm really glad I stumbled on this post. Grrr, this sucks beyond belief. Is there anything we can do?

Anyways, with comments could you tell me what exactly that linked post means? Seriously, I've only been blogging since the end of May. I don't understand any of.

My thoughts:

Once A Witch was a fast paced novel, full of magic and supernatural tendencies. I reccomend it to anyone who likes reading supernatural novels.

Tasmin is the 'misfit' of her family, she has no Talent. She has to live up to her family's name, without actually having a family Talent. She feels out of place, and in the shadow of her perfect sister Rowena. Someone could easily be in the same positon, well, except the powers thing, but you understand. Gabriel was a lovable character and often added humor into the whole story. He was my favorite character.

The theme in this novel is one that I really like. Modern stories of witches without the green skin, and melting with the touch of water. The author did that perfectly, and I loved it either way. The plot seemed really good as well.

Overall, if you're looking for a novel to read during the Halloween season...This is the book to go with (:

My thoughts:

This is a wonderfully written book filled with history and the wonders of New Orleans. It really displays how the state was in the past and present. You get to see how it's changed, and sometimes, how it's just the same.

This is a story about a ghost, Listette, that Rebecca can only see. But that's only what she thinks. As the story and plot continue, it starts getting a tad creepier. And prophecys and such start following. I found that the way Morris wrote captured me in the old and current New Orleans. The only thing I have to say negative would be the whole Roman society mix. I got confused so many times, but then again, it adds to the story.

I loved the characters and thought they were displayed very well. Rebecca is your typical girl from New York. Then she's taken to her Aunt and she's already hating everything about her surroundings. I really liked her character. And Anton! He was sort of mysterious and creepy and just there. I liked how he was incorporated in the story line and plot.

Overall, this is a spooky, mysterious book that will keep you wanting more.

New Playlist!

Hi, hi. I made a new playlist! The ones I previously had got old after awhile, so I make a new one at least every month. This one is going to have you think I'm nuts. It's a mixture of acoustic, alternative, rock, electronic, pop, classic rock, and country. Soooo it tells you I listen to TONS of genres, but this one was made when I was a tad hyper, and with the help of iTunes, I found hyper-y ones :P I've been good, the player isn't on autoplay. I know how annoying it is to have something play when your speakers are blasted unknown! So I don't do that to you all. [: Of course, if you love music, click on a song. I'm not going to post all the songs, because well, there's like 60 songs! My best playlist yet [;

Oh, and there are some songs featuring Chase Coy, listen to those; he's amazing. Did you hear me? Amazing! Well it's not amazing if you don't like acoustic crap, but still. I recommend that you do. There's an embarrassing song towards the end, it's a Tinkerbell movie song xD I love it, so hush, lol. Anyways, you'll find it at the somwhere in that random mix. Enjoy!

Hi, hi. Sorry I didn't post Teaser Tuesday or Waiting on Wednesday. I've been at my sisters, visiting and didn't have time to do so. But this Friday's book is The Vampire Diaries Volume 1. Yes, it has the first two books in there.

Up first, the UK:My thoughts: This is a like-dislike kind of cover. It's simple, and has the black background with color thing I love. But it's something too cartoonish about it.

The USA:
My thoughts: Mm, I really like this one much, much better. Note the golden eyes, the blood on the lips, and the pale face. Yummy.

Overall: I like our copy better. The theme is represented perfectly on the cover. While on the UK's what the hell does that apple have to do with vampires? Yeah, you guessed who the winner is. It's our cover [;
